Anna and Ryan at Deerfields, Asheville

Better late than never! I’m catching up on the blog after an amazing 2017 season. I am starting with this inspiring wedding day because in a lot of ways it represents why it is that I love shooting weddings so much. The setting was absolutely incredible at Deerfields campground just outside of Asheville. Guests camped all weekend on site or stayed in the cabins (also onsite), swam and played in the lake and enjoyed the beautiful mountain setting.

Anna and Ryan tied the knot on July 8, 2017. The day started as a rainy one, not just a sprinkle, but pouring down rain. Guests huddled under the main cabin to escape the rain before the ceremony. Rain on a wedding day can get a lot of people down, not these guys! They stayed positive and made the decision to go on with the day as planned as the rain lightened up. Everyone grabbed their umbrellas and walked up the hill to a beautiful ceremony site in the woods and followed the Firecracker Jazz Band and danced all the way down to the reception. By the time Anna and Ryan reached the reception they were married and the rain was finished, leaving the mountains draped with a beautiful fog: The perfect setting for family photos!

Firecracker Jazz Band and DJ Kipper entertained guests into the night and they danced under the moonlight! It was a truly romantic and beautiful day! Events by Kiersa Holly did an amazing job planning and organizing this amazing event and Black Eyed Susan catering delivered some of the best wedding food I’ve ever eaten!! Here are some highlights from this inspiring wedding day:
